Product variants

Thanks to the continuous development of our suction belt filter, there are now numerous flexible application options available to you. We tailor these to your individual requirements. Let us advise you on the best solution for your specific application.

Duplex filter HDF

The fully automatic HOFFMANN duplex filter HDF is perfectly suitable for all applications in which the consumable-free plastic endless belt requires an additional filter stage in order to achieve a finer filter grade. The filter can be easily reconfigured, and each filter stage can be controlled separately.

Advantages:

  • Higher filter grade than with the HSF
  • Flexible retrofitting
  • Each chamber can be controlled separately
  • Footprint identical to the HSF 150
  • Tried-and-tested, robust construction

Difference compared to the HSF:

Our classic HSF suction belt filter operates exclusively with a continuous plastic belt or filter fleece and features a single filter layer. The HDF, by contrast, has two filter layers. In the first stage, filtration is carried out using a continuous plastic belt, and in the second stage, either filter fleece or a finer-meshed continuous plastic belt is used. The HDF operates at full power and can be flexibly adapted to the material being processed. Each filter chamber can be controlled separately.

Retrofitting:

Retrofitting to existing HSF 150 systems is possible. Other sizes available on request.

Multi-stage suction belt filter SF

The SF model is suitable for filtering large volumes of cooling lubricant and is characterised by its stacked layers of continuous belts.

With filtration capacities ranging from 600 to 2000 l/min, we offer solutions to meet a wide variety of requirements.

Advantages:

• Consumable-free filtration with continuous filter belt
• Optionally available as a precoat filter with precoated cellulose
• Continuous cooling lubricant supply to your grinding machine without any downtime
• High degree of drying of the filter cake with minimal residual moisture
• Suitable for CBN and aluminium oxide grinding processes
• High degree of drying of the filter cake with minimal residual moisture
• Small space requirement

A bit of filter know-how

Here you will find explanations and clarifications of some frequently asked questions and terms used in filter technology.

In a suction belt filter, a vacuum is created under the filter belt to accelerate the filtration. This allows more liquid to be filtered with the same footprint than with a purely hydrostatic operation. HOFFMANN suction belt filters can be operated with filter fleece or in a consumable-free manner with an endless belt.

For the consumable-free operation of the HOFFMANN Suction belt filters, filter belts made of sieve fabric are used.

The endless band is created by connecting the two ends of the sieve fabric belt with a special lock. The lock of the HOFFMANN filter belts combines easy handling with high filter permeability,

In the cake-forming filtration, the particles of a suspension are retained by the filter medium and form a growing layer, the filter cake.

In the initial phase of filtration, a thin top layer must first form on the filter medium. This is usually done by particles which assemble and form bridges over the openings of the filter medium. The first cover layer and the subsequently accumulating filter cake have much smaller pores than the filter medium.
