In this design, the evaporator is designed as a cooling coil. The cooling coil dips directly into the liquid to be cooled. To ensure a good heat transfer and a uniform heat distribution, the liquid must be moved intensively.
The immersion recoolers consist of a housing and an evaporator made of stainless steel coil pipes (1.4301) mounted below, which is immersed in the liquid to be cooled. The evaporator is very easy to clean.
For better heat transfer, all immersion recoolers are equipped with a circulation pump as standard. The waste heat is dissipated to the environment via an air-cooled condenser. The coolant temperature can be set with a control accuracy of ± 1 °C.
HOFFMANN immersion recoolers are standardly suitable for ambient temperatures up to +40° C.
Explanations and clarifications of some frequently asked questions and terms used in refrigeration technology.
With a Continuous-Flow Cooler, the liquid to be cooled can be pumped through the heat exchanger (evaporator).
The function of a cooling lubricant is to reduce the friction between tool and workpiece in order to generate less heat and thus improve the machining result.
