HOFFMANN hydrostatic filters, with reel, operate based on principle of gravitational filtering. Depending on the requirements placed on the degree of filtering, filter papers with different structures are used.
These filters clean emulsions and grinding and cutting oils for machining of steel, castings, aluminum and other nonferrous metals. We recommend our stainless steel models when handling aggressive fluids, such as wastewater or chemicals.

The so-called filter cake is formed as impurities build up on the filter paper. This effect is enhanced even more by the high degree of filtering of the coolant. When the filter cake becomes too large however, the filling level rises above the filter area and the throughput rate declines. A float switch activates and controls the geared motor for the reel. The soiled filter paper is wound up on the reel, while simultaneously drawing out new filter paper, and the filter cake falls into the sludge box.
Advantages:
- reasonably priced, easy to use and reliable
- continuous supply of your machine with cleansed medium, without any down time
- fully automatic operation
- low maintenance
- reduction of disposal costs thanks to separation of soiled filter paper and filter cake by the reel
